    This position is responsible for increasing Apple Vacations package tour sales within a specified territory. Responsibilities include establishing partnering relationships with targeted travel agency accounts through regularly scheduled office visits, progress reporting, product and procedure training, and implementing marketing strategies and territory sales plans aimed at achieving company goals. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for reporting field activities to appropriate departments within Apple Vacations.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain high level of knowledge of company products, policies and procedures
    • Maintain knowledge of general market conditions - businesses closing, opening, current unemployment rates, conditions that may impact overall sales, etc.
    • Maintain and increase gross sales volumes of assigned account base, accounted in total passengers and total traveled passenger revenues
    • Make an average of 15, quality, in person, sales calls to accounts within sales territory each week
    • Ensure proper distribution of Apple Vacations electronic information (E-news updates), brochures, marketing collateral and sales support materials to the retail agents
    • Positively promote the full Apple Vacations product line and effectively communicate all current policies and procedures
    • Serve as the liaison between the retail travel agent and Apple Vacations to resolve elevated problems and increase sales
    • Research, target and develop sales potential within the assigned territory
    • Set goals and develop business plans with target accounts
    • Gather and communicate competitive industry information to the company
    • Submit a monthly advance call planner and weekly sales report
    • Maintain monthly production reports and analyze accounts that are up or down
    • Promptly respond to phone calls and emails
    • Educate front line agents via in-agency training seminars on Apple Vacations product, policies and procedures
    • Represent Apple Vacations at travel industry functions
    • Host joint sales calls and agency events with preferred travel industry partners
    • Increase agency sales through the appropriate use of co-op and/or tie-in advertising, consumer presentations and trade shows
    • Promote Group Travel sales and develop leads for the Group Department to pursue and close
    • Working nights and weekends will be required for select functions
    • Radio and TV interviews to promote Apple Vacations
    • Travel as required, including but not limited to, field sales calls, trade show attendance, fam trips, sales meetings and sales blitzes.
    • Perform other related duties, as required
    • Ability to analyze, problem solve and trouble shoot issues with emphasis placed on satisfying the customer.
    • Well organized and detail oriented with ability to handle a multitude of tasks and prioritize workload efficiently.
    • Innovative self- starter, adapts well to change and works effectively in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak/write communicate effectively with public, employees at all levels and vendors; create and deliver presentations.
    • Gather and communicate competitive industry information to the company
     

    Qualifications

    5+ years travel industry experience
    5+ years of experience in sales management
    Strong computer and organizational skills
    Strong technical analysis, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners
